I Hate Cowboys is a Western-inspired bourbon and cocktail lounge in Cleveland’s Flats East Bank. We’re all about rare whiskey, strong cocktails, good food, and vinyl spinning every Friday and Saturday.

Why is it called “I Hate Cowboys”?
The name comes from country star Chase Rice’s album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go to Hell. It’s a nod to the idea that not everything and not everyone is what you expect.

I Hate Cowboys is a collaboration between Chase Rice and Forward Hospitality Group, the team behind some of Cleveland’s most popular nightlife and dining spots.

What are I Hate Cowboys’ hours?
We’re open:

• Friday: 4 PM – 2 AM

• Saturday: 4 PM – 2 AM

• Sunday: Noon – Late

Do you have live music or events?
We keep it simple—no cover bands, no noise for the sake of noise. We let the vinyl do the talking with curated spins every Friday and Saturday.

When are vinyl nights at I Hate Cowboys?
Vinyl nights happen every Friday and Saturday. Expect an open format that changes night to night but features but is not limited to throwback hip hop, rock, country, with some deep cuts to fit the mood.

What bourbons does I Hate Cowboys serve?
We’re big on whiskey. You’ll find everything from everyday pours to rare bottles like Pappy Van Winkle, Blanton’s, and Eagle Rare. Our bourbon list changes often. ask your bartender what’s special that night.

Do you serve food, and what’s on the menu?
Yes. a focused menu of bar snacks and hearty plates:

• Popcorn, olives, nut mix

• Chips & dip, truffle fries

• Crispy rice with spicy salmon or BBQ brisket

• Kale Caesar with smoked, crispy, or buffalo chicken

• Twice baked potato with bacon vinaigrette, gouda, and cheddar

• Smash burger with blue cheese and chipotle mayo

• Salmon rice bowl with miso salmon and sesame dressing

• The Fried Chicken – 3 pieces of buttermilk-brined, double-fried, bone-in chicken with chili butter sauce and house pickles. It takes a little longer, but it’s some of the best damn fried chicken you’ll come across in Cleveland.

Do you have vegetarian or gluten-free options?
We have a few vegetarian-friendly choices and can adjust some dishes. Ask your server—our kitchen’s happy to work with you when possible.

Absolutely. We serve handcrafted cocktails built around quality spirits. rotating seasonal classics done right and a few original twists.

Do I need a reservation?
Nope—we’re first-come, first-served. Come early if you want a prime seat at the bar.

Yes. there’s paid street parking and nearby lots in the Flats East Bank. Ride-share is always a good idea on the weekend though.

Yes. our space and vibe are strictly for guests 21 and over.
